Happy Valley United Launches Spare Change Round-Up Program, Turns Everyday Purchases into NIL Support for Penn State

State College, PA — [June 12, 2025] — Happy Valley United, the official NIL collective supporting Penn State student-athletes, has launched the Spare Change Round-Up program—an easy, everyday way for Penn State fans to contribute to NIL opportunities for Nittany Lion student-athletes. By rounding up purchases wherever they shop, dine, or spend, supporters can make a direct impact on Penn State’s success—no matter where they live or bank.

“This program makes it easier than ever for Penn Staters to rally behind our student-athletes,” said Mike Villagrana, Executive Director of Football of Happy Valley United. “With just a few cents at a time, fans can make a real impact—automatically, from anywhere, and on their own terms.”

Enrollment is quick and secure—fans link their credit card, debit card, or bank account in just minutes. Once enrolled, everyday purchases are automatically rounded up to the nearest dollar. Weekly, if round-up totals exceed $10, that amount is contributed to Happy Valley United & NIL opportunities for Nittany Lions; if under $10, the balance rolls over to the next week. Fans can multiply their impact by up to 5x, set weekly caps, switch payment methods, or pause at any time.

The Spare Change Round-Up program is powered by SmartChange, an award-winning fundraising platform trusted by nonprofits and universities nationwide for secure, seamless giving.
