Former Nittany Lion Saquon Barkley & Head Coach James Franklin Headline Guest List of Coaches, Lettermen and Student-Athletes
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (May 2, 2024) — Happy Valley United, the Name, Image and Likeness collective serving all 31 teams and over 800 student-athletes at Penn State, is hosting We Are... In Philly on Thursday, May 9 at the Bellevue Hotel to benefit the football program’s NIL fund. In the City of Brotherly Love, Happy Valley United will be joined by a wealth of special guests, including former Nittany Lion and current Philadelphia Eagle Saquon Barkley, head coach James Franklin, coaches, lettermen, current student-athletes and more.

The evening is broken down into three portions, starting at 6 PM with the VIP Reception. Guests will enjoy extended conversations and time with Penn State football coaches, lettermen and student-athletes along with a premium open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres.
The Main Reception will commence at 7 PM and be emceed by Steve Jones, the radio voice of Penn State football. Along with appearances from Penn State football guests, the Main Reception features rapping magician and Philadelphia native Mervant Vera, who starred on America’s Got Talent and live painter Cody Sabol, who will auction off two Penn State-themed paintings during the event.
In addition to the two paintings, authentic signed jerseys from Philadelphia Eagle AJ Brown and Philadelphia Flyer Scott Laughton will be auctioned off among other one-of-a-kind items. Guests can enjoy three hours with our special guests as well as music, specialty cocktails, dinner stations and more.
Following the Main Reception, the VIP After Party will be held at the Union League. A select group of guests will enjoy one-on-one time with select Penn State football guests before the end of the evening.
