Supporting activities, programs and services that benefit those who live in the communities we serve is a big part of what we do here at Geisinger. Each year Geisinger contributes sponsorships and our teams provide services to worthy causes that are important to our goal of making better health easier.
Recently, Geisinger sponsored the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association Big 33 high school coaches clinic. We were there to educate the coaches on the importance of injury and concussion prevention.
To highlight the value of the support, Geisinger invited Keaton Ellis, Dvon Ellies and Julian Fleming, our Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) partners from the Penn State football team, to provide a meet-and-greet with the clinic attendees and to handout injury and concussion prevention resources.
Hailing from Geisinger’s hometowns, Keaton is from State College and Julian is from Elysburg.
“I appreciate Geisinger helping us as athletes to use our platform to have a positive impact on the lives of others,” said Keaton, a recent captain and starting safety. “Being able to work in the community is very fulfilling for me.”
“It was great to give back in this way,” said Julian, who’s spending his fifth year of eligibility at Penn State after transferring from Ohio State. “Anytime I can connect with the community from my hometown, I’m happy. I appreciate the community where I grew up and want to do all I can to support it.”
The athletes are part of Geisinger’s NIL program. The program helps equip student-athletes with the tools and resources to achieve their greatest potential in the classroom, on the playing field and in life.
By supporting community events, activities and organizations like this, Geisinger can make better health easier for our patients, family members, students and employees — and all who live in the communities we serve.

Our primary funding allocation will go toward initiatives that help achieve health equity, as well as areas identified in the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
The 2024 CHNA priority areas:
Access to healthcare: Includes supporting free clinics, under-insured or under-resourced health programs, initiatives promoting healthcare careers, and projects that enhance health literacy and health equity.
Chronic disease management: Encompasses programs to help people manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma/COPD, high cholesterol and cancer.
Behavioral health: Incorporates training to recognize and refer people in need, reducing stigma through education and increasing awareness of mental health issues.
We support initiatives and investments that reflect the voices, perspectives and lived experiences of the people and communities in the Geisinger service areas.
